This is our very first blog. I'm not really sure what I am supposed to say but I felt like I should say something. This a blog for our family. Our family consists of me, Elizabeth, my husband, Dave, and my daughter, Madison. Dave and I have been married for almost 2 years (in June). Madison will be 9 in June.
Dave is Madee's stepdad. We don't have any children together at this point. Our plan is to start trying next May. Dave works for Home Depot Store Support as a real estate tax accountant. He is also in school to get his CFP (certified financial planner). He is very much into investments and money and all that stuff and I don't even begin to understand. Dave is the rock of our family. Without him I really don't know what life would be like. He thinks of all the things I never would. He actually lays out our vitamins in the morning and sends me emails reminding me to wash my hands. He is so cute!!
Madison is in 3rd grade this year. She is growing up so fast I can't stand it. I am hoping and praying she never goes through the stage where she hates me and wants nothing to do with me. I have heard so many horror stories from moms with 13 or 14 year old daughter who say that their daughter despises them. I couldn't even imagine that. Anyways, she is playing softball this year and we absolutely LOVE it. It is so much fun to watch her play. Dave and I get a little too excited sometimes. We have to really control ourselves. Madison is such a funny child. She has that adult sense of humor probably because she is an only child. We have a lot of fun together.
I have been a teacher for the past several years but decided to go back to school this past year to get my degree in school counseling. Now I am looking for a counseling job for next school year. I am so happy with my decision to switch over to couseling. My experiences so far have been so rewarding. A lot of the time kids just need an adult to take the time to listen to them. It is really nice to be that person. I am praying that I will find the right job for next year. I know that God has the perfect place for me somewhere.
